Graham to attempt his 4th Atlantic crossing in historic boat

October

News of another trip for Graham Waiters has reached the ÒÒ. Graham, Thurmaston's remarkable ocean rower is making plans to row the Atlantic In a tiny 15 foot boat
`Puffin'.
The boat is famed for an ill-fated attempt to row across the mighty waves in 1966 by David Johnstone and John Íîàãå. `Puffin' was found crewless in mid-Atlantic; in the upturned hull was à journal fisting the day-by-day account of the journey, depicting heroism of the highest order.`Puffin' was picked up and eventually found its way to the UK where Graham spotted it in à maritime exhibition at Torquay.
Improvements are to be made before the joumey, including à self-righting inflation system, and solar panels for power. The cabin is to be sealed with à watertight hatch, and  water maker fitted.

The ÒÒ will follow our intrepid adventurer as preparations progress, at the time of going to press the voyage is planned for October 2005, and will take approximately three and à half months to complete.
