| A former soldier rowing for
charity across the Indian Ocean has concussion and must be rescued from
the record-breaking attempt, the project director Chris Cherrington said
yesterday. Mike Noel-Smith, 45, hit his head during a storm 1,500 miles off the west coast of Australia. Rob Abernethy, his rowing partner, said he should be picked up because of his worsening condition. Their damaged boat is too far from shore for an air rescue so Australian, British, French and US navy ships in the Indian Ocean have been alerted. |
