                 The ORS Int. is the official adjudicator of ocean rowing records for Guinness World Records

 


September 14th 2007 at The Southampton Boat Show.
 

A three course Lunch organized by ORS (Int) will be served at noon at the Holiday Inn on Herbert Walker Ave for 30 persons (first come first served). To reserve for lunch call 0208 830 5447 or email oceanrowing@btinternet.com

Cost is 25.00GBP per head and includes one day ticket to the Boat Show (cash bar available).

At the lunch Graig Glenday, Editor in Chief of Guinness World Records, will present a Guinness Certificate to Graham Walters for recently rowing ''Puffin'', the smallest ocean rowboat, across the Atlantic land to land.

Also, the about to be released 2008 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records will be available for order, it includes 2 pages of ocean rowing records and photographs.

 Alby MaCraken of Australia who is the designer/supplier of para anchors for ocean rowing boats is a special invited guest and will be available to answer questions about his Para Anchor to interested parties.

Colin Mudie, the designer of Puffin (1965), will be present at the lunch as a Guest of Honour of the ORS Int.

 For those preparing for an ocean row a visit to the boat show gives an ideal opportunity to talk to oceanrowers and to visit suppliers. (Often special reduced prices are available to future oceanrowers).

 

During the scheduled ORS Int. seminar
at the Boat Show on

 the speakers are:  John Williams (Atlantic E-W  2003 and Indian E-W 2007, 'double'), Dan Byles and Neil Hitt (both rowed the Atlantic E-W  'double' in 1997, Dan Byles was on the support yacht for the Atlantic Rowing Race 2005); John Williams will speak on his Indian Ocean Row experience.
