Brett woke up 1 hr before shift end and helped row – power hour. So we could get another 100! Did some physical damage 2 muscles, hands etc.
Sat for about an hour after licking wounds rubbing cremes on joints and popping pain killers.

 Wind started off as southerly then changed 2 Westerly.

Dolphin jump. Bob fly-by.

 Wind turns to Northerly. Too strong to fight. Ran with it.

 Dolphins glided by. Scott rowing, Brett sleeping.

Wind still Northerly D 2 Bar 1875N.M

 Brett reels in Dorada that had been dragged behind for a couple hours without anyone noticing. Fish had no fight left. Ate it with rice and garlic.

 Wind has died down to feeble strength. Sloppy sea.

Wind still coming from all over, swell has no uniform.

 Bath – Scott dropped soap- had to ninja quick think and rescue dive 4 it.

Sea started to heap upon itself. 2 different swells operating. Northerly (large) and East/ Northeast.

 Swell really started to get big – lifejacket on - no heroes alive on La Mar. Only dead ones.

Bob still flying by every hour or so.

Interesting day – More conducive to our type of water experience, big waves- ‘surfable’.
Started with 3 different swells – large (N) Mid (N,NE) Mid (E)
Using Northeasterly swell till the two mid sized swells combined. Still not really uniform. But only evidence of them.

 Overcast, gentle breeze.

 Sunny, hot.

Cumulus clouds build up. Potential Nimbus developing. Wind pretty much Northeast.

General pain in knees, hands clawing. Brufen still favoured remedy.

Before moonrise- navigate by ‘brail’. Mystic water.

Dream (Brett) – Kenneth waking me, rowing through a paradise of bikini clad women rowing through a fantasy garden.

Caught sea gull with rod. Flew into fishing line and got tangled. Bit me when trying to untangle him. Bustard!

Fairly steady breeze pushing us. We go where she blows.

3-5m swell with varying direction but generally headed our way. 1st full day with conditions favouring us. Yeahooooo!!!!!!!!

Brett was sleeping head 2 stern with window open. Got sea water dunking. Time to rinse….

Retired the ‘tumour’. (Camping air mattress that had a blow out of the seams making a huge bubble) forced it into the bow cabin as extra floatation for ‘justin’…just in case.

18:20hrs  Scott caught dorada – quick to side of boat. Brett gaffed 1st time. Fried and made stew.

 Brett spots phantom yacht in darkness. Blew fog horn twice. Saw torchlight in sails. No response. Tried calling on channel 16 “White sailing yacht, white sailing yacht; “This is rowing boat Against All Odds”…

Porridge 4 breakfast

Wind started off Northerly then changed to North Northeast.

 Rain shower- ten to fifteen minutes. Complete calm for an hour then wind picked up again - easterly.
