Now I'm in Cape Cod, at some friend's house. I was picked up by the US Coastguard by helicopter.
I call on Iridium for rescue to my brother in Cape Cod, who contacted the Coast guards, with a description of the situation and my GPS exact position.

I'm ok, just some vertigos and some contusions everywhere and a hard headache.

I hope we can save the equipment...

According to Robert Cunningham, the 'Caliste' was at the Orleans Yacht Club, then into the water in Town Cove in Orleans, then towed (against the very strong flood tide) to Nauset Inlet, Orlean's outlet to the Atlantic. Charlie began rowing at the Nauset Inlet bouy.

''He started yesterday [July 4th, 2007] with steady 10-15 knot winds at least. By last night, the winds were up to 15-25 kts on the bluff here, and perhaps higher on the ocean. They have sustained at that rate today, and should again sustain at that velocity tonight. If the Caliste performs well as a sailing hull, the winds might have moved him, along with his oars, quite rapidly towards the Gulf Stream.''
