OCEAN ROWERS IN OTHER ADVENTURES

Jan MEEK

Jan Meek has been invited to be part of an expedition of 12 people trekking to the GEOGRAPHIC North Pole headed by British Explorer David Hempleman-Adams and Norwegian Explorer Rune Gjeldnes. This expedition is to celebrate David Hempleman-Adams explorer’s Grand Slam ten years ago when he climbed the highest peaks on each continent, including Everest, and completed solo expeditions to both North and South Geographic and Magnetic poles.

The expedition departs from the UK on 3 April, first flying to Oslo, then up to Longyearbyen for a couple of days team training before flying to the Russian Ice Station Borneo to begin the trek to, as Jan says, - "The Top of the World".

Russian Ice Station Borneo located on the drifting pack ice of the Arctic Ocean 55 nautical miles south of the geographical North Pole
