| No turkey for oarsman on Pacific challenge | |
London 29th October 2000 |
| Today marks Jim's 4 months at sea.
Jim is almost half way to Australia, with 5091 miles to go to Cairns. In a recent message Jim say's he thinks he has food for another 10 weeks.
Wationing (or a resupply) I would expect Jim to run out of food before he reaches Australia or, he must row more than 40 miles for the next 125 days. (So far Jim has averaged 37miles a day). When Peter Bird rowed from San Francisco to Great Barrier reef Australia in 1983 in 294 days non stop, he was resupplied 300 miles off of Tahiti it seems Jim will pass close to the spot where Peter was resupplied Peter left from San Francisco California and Jim from Ilo Peru.
