College Student

Hi! I am Katie Spotz and I am currently finishing up my senior year in Business and Economics at Warren Wilson College in North Carolina. I began college at age 16 and will graduate early in May 2008.

I recently began rowing and have a background with running and triathlons. I have completed several marathons and placed first in my age group in a half-ironman triathlon. In 2006, I rode my bike 3,300 miles across America to benefit the American Lung Association. Earlier this year I competed in a 100km Trailrun in Melbourne, Australia.

I want to use the Atlantic row to challenge myself physically and mentally, but also to raise awareness and funds about the world water crisis through the Blue Planet Run Foundation. I aim to be the youngest person to row an ocean solo.
