24 HOUR DISTANCE RECORD

On December 24th - 25th two boats claim to have broken the record for longest distance travelled in 24 hours in an ocean rowboat, previously held by All Relative (2005).

The data of La Mondiale gives: from 22:37:52N 23:44:17W to 21:57:43N 25:20:46W -
113 miles within 24.00 hours, - as verified by Argos positions, and was therefore (for the day stated) accepted as a new 'official record'

The data of ORCA, delivered by Roy Finlay via Iridium satellite phone gives:
from 22:07:00N 19:47:00W to 21:15:00N 21:18:00W -
114 miles in 23 1/2 hours. This cannot be verified by Argos data (ORCA does not have beacons on board), therefore the official status for this record will be given after getting verification from the ship's log.

Jan 2nd - Jan 3rd La Mondiale set a new 24 hour distance record - 117 miles (189 km) (102 nautical miles)
