Leven BROWN, Skipper of La Mondiale – fastest Ocean Rowing boat of all time, - is seeking crew for an Atlantic Crossing in November December 2008 – Canaries to West Indies. Offers one of the most inexpensive ways to row an ocean with the experience of a double Oceanrower and quadruple world record holder aboard. Selection is light for this voyage as we are going out primarily to enjoy what the ocean has to offer. We have 11 places on offer but they are filling up fast. Please contact Leven if you wish further details. |

In June 2009, La Mondiale, is going for a North Atlantic crossing (New York to Falmouth). The boat is capable of breaking the current record of 55 days that has been held for over 100 years, given the weather. We require crew of a very high calibre to row on her.. Selection will be very tough for this voyage including Squad training in the Scottish Highlands (1week), Hereford, Portpatrick, several Sea Trials ranging from 1-5 days, and a sea survival course – we only want the best and only your best will do! A Squad of 30 rowers will be assembled for selection only 12 will be chosen. The boat and the crew will be driven extremely hard on this voyage and it will be a great test of character. |

In January 2010 La Mondiale will be retired. We are recruiting Crew for her retirement voyage from the Canaries to the West Indies. Demand is expected to be high for this voyage as she is such a historic boat with a special place in the echelons of ocean rowing. She will attempt to beat the current record time of 33 days, 7days and 30 mins (or the new record time should this be beaten in the interim). The crew will be selected on ability and character and will go through similar trials as detailed in 2. |
