                 The ORS Int. is the official adjudicator of ocean rowing records for Guinness World Records

at press-conference organized by the
Ocean Rowing Society International

 Kenneth F. Crutchlow of the ORS Int.  announced:

  1. The 2nd Ocean Rowing Society Atlantic  Rowing Regatta - ORSARR 2008 - from La Gomera to Antigua starting on January 20th 2008;

. An attempt to beat the record of the fastest ocean crossing in a rowboat held for 15 years by a French crew  will be made
by an all British Crew headed by oceanrower
Leven Brown in the original boat Le Mondiale.
The current record is 35 days 8 hours;

  
3.   Jo Davies (oceanrower, GB) will be rowing from La Gomera to Antigua also starting on January 20th 2008.  She will attempt to break the solo women’s record for this route.
     The current record is held by Anne Quéméré (France, 2002-2003) and is 56 days 13 hours.
