Adrian Bell, land Team Hesco, has pleasure to inform theOcean Rowing community  that Mark Waterson, or rather Captain Mark Thomas Waterson RE – skipper of the Team Hesco boat – received an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list.  The award is for his contribution to the Team Hesco Atlantic Challenge, which saw the team carry off two Guinness World Records and raise more than £250,000 for the Meningitis Trust.  Naturally we’re delighted that the challenge has been recognised in this fashion – totally unexpected, it’s an excellent conclusion to a memorable undertaking and a massive recognition for the effort and commitment shown by all those in the team.
