After successful crossing of the Atlantic from NY to Brittany in a purpose-built ocean-kite boat in 2006, French oceanrower Anne Quemere (Atlantic E-W, 2002 and Atlantic W-E, 2004), started her new kite challenge from San Francisco to Tahiti "Wing over the Pacific Ocean" on Tuesday, November 4th 2008 at 18:32:03 GMT (10:32:03 local time) heading to the French Polynesian Islands (Click here for details >>>)
11.12.2008 Anne Quemere rescued, OceanKite abandoned
On December 10th 2008 Anne was forced to send a distress signal when, after being becalmed in the Doldrums for 10 days, it became apparent that her batteries were about to fail. She was rescued at 0130 this morning by the 294 metre cargo vessel Maersk Mytilini, which had diverted to her aid and has now resumed its route to Panama.

The recently built Rossiter Yachts Ocean Rowboat will be at the Earls Court Boat Show, 26th – 30th November.

Proud owners Guy Watts and Andrew Delaney, who are going to row in the Indian Ocean Race starting next April, will be there with their boat. Team MSS are raising awareness for Orchid - the only UK charity to solely deal with male cancers - and will fundraise on their behalf once all costs are covered. They would be very pleased to see and pick the brains of any ocean rowers who are visiting the Show!

The Prologue of BOUVET RAMES GUYANE 2009
will take place from 7th till 12th October 2008 in Saint-Martin-de-Ré >>>
This is a planning estimate for the Prologue that if required, may be amended.



		The newest Ocean Row Boat will be afloat at the Show on Berth 397 (next to Sunseeker). Guy Watts and Andrew Delaney will be there with the Rossiter Yachts built ORS Int. boat >>>
		The boat doesn't have a name yet but they are already raising awareness for their chosen charity Orchid - the only UK charity to solely deal with male cancers. Guy and Andrew are entering the Indian Ocean Race next April 19th, they would be very pleased to see and pick the brains of any ocean rowers who are visiting the Show!
12.09 - 21.09 2008		Rossiter Yachts will also be at the show on stand B104A and similarly pleased to meet ocean rowers.

Two years ago, OAR Northwest rowed across the North Atlantic Ocean and into the record books. The four Seattle rowers became the first-ever crew to row unassisted from New York to England, mainland to mainland. Repaired Carpe Diem has completed her recent adventure! This time the route took her not across an ocean: a Maltese Daniel Abela has rowed her "home" - from Sicily to Malta, - for charity.
The challenge, supported by the Vodafone Malta Foundation has been held to raise funds for the organisation and pay for a dream holiday for terminally sick children and their parents, in an effort to alleviate some of the hardships the families go through. Daniel started from Sicily on June 19 and arrived at Valletta Waterfront on June 22 2008

Ocean rower Jan Meek took part in the expedition of 12 people trekking to the GEOGRAPHIC North Pole headed by British Explorer David Hempleman-Adams and Norwegian Explorer Rune Gjeldnes. See details >>>
