MY ears pricked up
when I heard that 23-year-old hunk Oliver Hicks is rowing the
Atlantic buck- naked.
And while that's impressive, what's totally awe-inspiring is the
guts of this young Suffolk lad, who for no other reason than it's
there, decided to row 3,000 miles across this vast ocean
single-handed in à boat not much bigger than he is, with only whales
and dolphins for company.
It's hard to fathom what drives this óîung man, who went to Harrow
with Wills and Harry, and who instead of risking his neck could have
sat back and settled into a nice, privileged existence.
Harder still to know where he 'gets the courage to sit alone in the
shadow of 100ft waves and stay sane.
And what kind of spirit does it require to row Dike fury, for three
days and end up in the same spot because of bad weather?
