Message in a bottle, thrown into the Indian Ocean by oceanrower Pavel Rezvoy
arrived on the shores of Mozambique.

In the early hours of June 28th HQ of oceanrowing.com in London received a call from Perth Australia from one of their friends, Dennis Soloshenko, who took an active role in assisting Theodore and Pavel Rezvoy, and twin-brothers Sinelnik in their preparation for rowing the Indian Ocean. And also when Pavel stopped over in Perth on his way to the Cocos Islands.
At Pavel's farewell party Dennis and his friend handed to Pavel a bottle of Australian Rum and a letter, written in three languages - Russian, Hebrew and English. The request was to put that letter into the bottle when it was empty and throw it into the ocean. Pavel soon drank the contents (well he is Russian) and threw the bottle into the Indian Ocean on September 22nd 2005, being at 13:20:02S 89:10:26E, this was documented in his log,

You can imagine Dennis's surprise when on June 28th 2006 he received a call from Mozambique from Sumail Ali who said that he had found the bottle! First Sumali was concerned that the message in the bottle could be from a wrecked ship, but after reading it ( the paper appeared to be amazingly intact, no water at all inside the bottle) he was delighted to learn that he was eligible for a bottle (full, of course) of an Australian rum ! That's what he claimed with a good humour when calling Dennis in Perth.
A bottle of Australian rum will shortly depart for Mozambique, this time it will make its way by air.
