My name is Peter Raab. I'm 33 years old and Born in Germany. I've been a resident in Tenerife for 10 years with my wife. I'm a powerboat instructor and boat maintenance/management/sales manager. I will be rowing across the Atlantic with Tim Wilks.
This is a challenge with a difference and as I love the experience of being almost alone at sea and being able to appreciate the incredible nature around me has a great appeal. Also the fact that with the help of sponsorship I will be able to help do something for those less fortunate than myself

My name is Tim Wilks and I'm twenty nine years old. I currently live in North East England.

I've been a keen sportsman all my life and have played semi professional rugby for over ten years. I spent several years backpacking in Asia and Africa.
With the travel whetting my appetite for adventure and requiring a new sporting challenge I started considering an ocean row a couple of years ago. The freedom and isolation of the ocean is the main draw for this experience.

Peter is a fantastic partner to accompany anyone on the row and I look forward to our departure.

  THE BOAT

“Martha Dos”

Martha Dos is owned by Ann Goulden, a resident in Tenerife. It was rowed successfully in the 2001 race from Tenerife to Barbados under a Spanish crew. The rowers Pedro Ripol and Francisco Korff finished the race in 61 days and became heroes in the Spanish Rowing Society. Martha Dos is now based in Puerto Colon, Tenerife. Her crew have already begun training!

Specially built for ocean rowing in Cornwall, UK in 2000.
Crew of 2 and storage place for food and equipment. Oars, GPS, Water maker, Life Raft, Satellite phone and fishing gear
