Rowers Wed!

Stuart is seen leaving the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Long Compton
accompanied by his bride Alison Campbell.

Alison has rowed for Stratford Rowing Club.   At present, there are no plans to enter a “pairs” race!

It was to Stuart’s great delight that he saw the arch formed by the oars he used during his single-handed row La Gomera-Port St Charles, and that it was held by two pupils of the Acorns Primary School.
The pupils are Annabel Trew and Robbie Shurmer – Robbie says that he cannot wait until he is old enough to be an ocean rower!   The Primary School took great interest in Stuart’s row, following his progress from preparation right through to his safe arrival.

During his speech at the wedding reception, Stuart reminded his guests that the ORS had introduced him to a Russian tradition – all the guests then stood for the “Third Toast”.
