SECRET BEHIND TEDDY'S PLAN

Theodore Rezvoy is Ukrainian and will be using the rowing boat left on La Gomera when Viatcheslav Kavtchenko was forcibly rescued by Canarian authorities from his lone rowing bid across the Atlantic in March, Kavtchenko, known as Slava returned, disappointed to his native Russia and hopes to mount a second bid next year.
Meanwhile, Theodore will be using his boat in his own lone bid.

THEODORE REZVOY, 33, has always harboured a secret ambition to live up to his aristocratic family's tradition of adventure.
He is the ninth generation of Russian aristocratic family which distinguished itself in many military campaigns.
His father is a geologist, who took him to expeditions in the Pamir mountains from the age of three, and his mother is an artist. As a result Teddy, as his family calls him, combines a love of art, especially oriental carvings, with a spirit of adventure.
A former Soviet air force man, he is a martial arts enthusiast and has studied seamanship and survival courses for the past eight years.
He is also the webmaster of the Ocean Rowing Society and Slava's failure in March, which Teddy reported on the website, presented him with the perfect opportunity to astound his family with the news that he would like to use the boat himself.
He first whispered the idea to his wife, Ludmila on the phone from London, and after a long pause, she asked him: "Are you drunk?" It took a few weeks for her to come to terms with the idea but since then she has been a huge help in his planning.
Heavily sponsored by Ukrainian International Airlines and an "Eximnefteproduct" oil company Teddy awaits the arrival of Odessa TV crew on Thursday.
The plan is to appear every morning on Ukrainian TV breakfast shows through live links.
