From: SLewis4282@aol.com Date: Sun, 6 Sep 1998 09:37:36 EDT Dear Tori, I am a brother-in-law to Carlton Lowe (a fellow worker in your office in Louisville). He told me of your current adventure, but have just this morning read the latest in the Courier Journal (I live in Bloomington, IN). I admire the planning and preparation you have made for this trip, but most of all your courage. Although this is not something I would ever consider for myself, being more interested in the weather that you have experienced on your trip (having served as a meteorologist in the Air Force), I hope that you will include these kinds of details in a book which I hope will be available in the near future. Best of luck to you now on your last third of your trip. Sincerely, Don Lewis (djlewisind@juno.com)

All of us back here at LDA continnue to be inspired
by you as we follow your daily progress and marvel at your determination and focus. It
seems thateach week the media finds another "hero" in the news with a story of
perseverence and achievement, but they all pale in comparison to yourefforts. We think of
you daily and wish you nothing but good fortune and nounforseen obstacles.By the way,
Linsday has decided to take crew in the spring; I wonder why?Best wishes and know that we
are with you in spirit...
