playgrounds in our parks. And one of us is rowing across the dad gum

Tori,
I have been keeping up with your adventure on the internet. You are my
hero. It is hard for me to imagine anyone having the courage you have
to take on this challenge. I am writing this to tell you that every day
and every night I say a special prayer for you. I think of you out
there all alone, and then I know you are not alone, because I continue
to ask God to travel with you and keep you safe. I know he hears my
prayers and I will not let up on them until you reach your destination.
If I owned a cereal company your picture would be on a box right now.

Hello from South Bend, Indiana! You and I are both a long way, mentally and
physically, from our law school days in Louisville, but I have often
wondered how you've been and what you've been doing. Well, I knew rowing
had to be part of the "what have you been doing." Obviously you have also
been living without limits! Patrick and I (plus Michael, eighteen months)
want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you as you make this
courageous and historic crossing. I say "courageous" but perhaps it only
seems so to most people. It seems that such a crossing, for the "Tori" part
of you, was inevitable. In any event, we are keeping you in our thoughts
and most of all want you to return to America safely, whether you reach
France first or not.
To update you on us, Patrick and I are doing well here in South Bend. As I
said, we have a new addition in our family and Michael takes us to our
limits sometimes! I have a solo private law practice and Patrick continues
to practice oncology. In his so-called free time he writes fiction and and
has finished his first novel. Someday we hope to read your book recounting
your adventures.
Good luck and hope you' re enjoying the cruise! Laura Curliss, Patrick and
Michael

Subject: Crabtree Falls/Gouards
Hi Tori,
SSCurber and Rockierae just got back from the mountains. We hiked to a
few waterfalls. We hiked to Blue Suck Falls( named after sulfur suck licks) .
It was not running very fast, but it was still beautiful. The hike was a
moderate one requiring a little energy for one to complete the hike. We also
went to Crabtree Falls. This waterfall is very beautiful. The mountain roads
were very snakey. I wondered how one would drive on them in the winter. The
wildflowers were beautiful! We bought postcards of the flowers.
We are leaving for Martha's Vineyard Aug. 4. It is a great island. We
have been there many times before.
Hope you are having a good day! We think about you often!
p.s. The gouards are growing, just vines for now, no fruit. The vines are
about 5 inches long. They are starting to reach for the fence and trellis. We
have three kinds of gouards growing, Bushel, Dipper, and Birdhouse. My friend
can't wait for a gouard to paint for you. She is going to paint it with your
boat, ocean style. It should look great!
