Scott Gilcrest to Ocean Rowing Society |
| Being as
we had one major sponsor "Carphone Warehouse" we were obliged
to keep ( for our sponsors records) full and accurate records of
all our expenditures related to our cost. The following list is a break
down of the majority of costs incurred by my partner Peter Moore and I
from participating in the 2001 Ward Evans Atlantic rowing race. The list is broken down into areas of expenditure. The largest proportion of the costs was in construction of the boat and kitting out of the boat. The equipment list is items not permanently attached to the boat. Items in italics are goods/services we received in lieu of PR/sponsorship or gestures of goodwill. These I have estimated at market value. A lot of the additional costs are things like regular train travel to the site of where the boat was built, van hire, petrol which over the course of 3 years mounts up. Total expenditure was just over £90,000. Of this £60.000 was race entry and boat construction and kitting out to a standard suitable for ocean crossing. The balance of £30.000 was spent on additional goods and services. |
