		Although this boat has crossed the Atlantic 4 times it is still in excellent solid condition. It is a composite hull. A lightweight ocean rowing boat designed by Phil Morrison and built at Global Boat Works by Jamie Fabrizio . All finishes are to the very highest standards and the boat comes with a raft of extras. It has made one Atlantic Crossing in Jan 08 having been built in 07. It is a solo boat but the cabin is large enough to accommodate a pair with one rowing. It is a very light boat and travels through the water very easily and would be very suitable for anyone wishing to attempt a record.
We bought it with the intention of doing the North Atlantic as a pair but have been forced to cancel due to changed circumstances. We had total confidence in the boat to handle these extreme conditions and are very sad to have to give up on this project. The flights were booked, the food bought etc and the boat is in 100% shape ready for a crossing without any extra work.
All hatches are Lewmar and are dry in all weather.

She is one of the best plywood boats around. Dream Maker is built to be light, fast and strong. As the only mixed sex crew in the Atlantic Rowing Race 2009 we finished 9th overall and 7th in the pairs class (for a large part of the race we were in 5th place), beating many more expensive Carbon and Composite boats.

Challenge class plywood boat.

Built in 1997 in Bossums Boatyard in Oxfordshire , she successfully crossed the Atlantic 2 times:
1. from Tenerife to Barbados in 1997 Port St Charles Atlantic Rowing Race with the first and only Mother & Son team, as can be seen in the current Guinness World Records Book (2008);
2. from La Gomera to Barbados in 2004 ORS Atlantic Rowing Regatta (winner of the Regatta)

In 2007/2008 the boat has been completely refurbished and considerably re-enforced. The work done by ORS Int. technical team - the most experienced and knowledgeable repairing team in oceanrowing: list of boats repaired by them for preparing for sea includes Odessa, Marion-Lviv, Rus, Ukraine, Isidoro Arias, Memory of Zayed, La Mondiale.

The re-enforcement was made with light and strong materials, that did not add much to the weight of the boat but made it to be one of the most reliable plywood boats available.

It has been modified for team of three, so the storage cabin is prolonged under the deck and can be used as a separate sleeping compartment.

Now it has anti-slip grey deck space (to protect your eyes from sun reflection) and white hull.
New electric system and solar panels. Rowing station, 1 set of Macon oars and 2 sets of choppers. 8 new Henderson hatches.
No other equipment, but any equipment of your choice can be installed by the team by arrangement.

Woodvale Pairs class Ocean Rowing boat is for sale

Crossings - AORR 2007 and 2009

“The Reason Why” was built for the 2007 AORR by Cornishmen Paul Harris (Electrical engineer) and Steve Gardner from a Woodvale pairs timber kit. Finished 4th in 2007 race in a time of 55 days and finished in 77 days in 2009 race. Unlike many other boats she didn’t suffer any problems, electrical or otherwise during either race. She is in good condition with a few superficial scrapes but will probably need re-painting before next crossing. She was dry stored between races and is currently stored near Bristol.

In 2009 Southern Cross became the first wooden pairs boat to cross the Indian Ocean, land to land. A very quick and strong boat, she lead the pairs-class race for 92 days, withstanding a capsize. Following a run of bad weather Southern Cross finished second, only 18 hours behind the Atkinson-Pairs plastic boat. Southern Cross showed incredible reliability, pulling us through battering storms and reaching the highest ever ocean rowing speed recorded, 17.9 knots, while surfing the waves. With a superbly crafted rudder that gave great balance and control over the boat and a Katadyn water-maker, well positioned, low down and dry, that never failed us and comes with the full spares kit. My boat is up for sale with everything on board, as is. I am being extra careful with the rudder. Apart from that everything else is working excellent. Water leak is from hole for steering cable and broken mooring. (Can be fixed by Pavel Rezvoy, who serviced the boat twice, plus I will come down to La Gomera to help the rowers out with it. ) It comes with: all electronics 2 satphones + sim card connecting cables waterproof camera, PDA card readers transformers 12v chargers etc , lots of backups. 2 survival suites (1 brand new - mine, the other Oliver's) all up to date documents, flares in date grab bag as it is etc. Watermaker is ok. This rowing boat is recently built, has done only one successful crossing of the Atlantic, was tested after the Atlantic row and is in very good condition. The boat was built by Woodvale Events in England and carefully prepared by ocean rower Pavel Rezvoy (one of the most experienced rowing boat builders in the world) together with his son Dimitry and the Englishman Jamie Fabrizio in August and September 2006 in Spain. The boat has just crossed the Atlantic by Spanish solo rower Andreu Mateu (Dec 2nd 2006 - Mar 7th 2007) and is now back in a warehouse in Tarragona, near Barcelona (Spain). The boat has been cleaned and prepared and just needs a little of work in order to be ready to go into the water again. The price for the trolley is 1.500 € (Euros). Not negotiable. I have reduced the price already two times !!! And the boat is priced at 50% of the original price. If you want you can fly to Barcelona prepare the boat in one week and take it fully equipped together with the trolley to The Canaries Islands by driving with a rented 4x4 car to Cadiz, and then take the boat from Cadiz to Tenerife and La Gomera by cruising boat. I can also make arrangements for you and place it in La Gomera or Tenerife where you can make the final arrangements, so you do not have to worry about transport and just fly from your country to Tenerife and find the boat ready there.
