THE BOAT
To cross the Atlantic, an Ocean rowing boat has to meet special
requirements. It must be solid but as light as possible, little but able to
carry about three months of food, unsinkable, and last but not least,
self-righting.
Peggy Bouchet will use the boat previously owned by Joseph Le Guen. That
boat has already proved its seaworthiness, having already crossed the
Atlantic Ocean by the generally accepted more difficult northern route (from
Cape Cod to France).
Of course, it has been modified for this crossing and for Peggy in order to
offer the guarantee of performance and security needed to reach the West
Indies. Peggy has trained regularly on her boat "SECTOR NO LIMITS" since
June and prepared it carefully, studying every detail, anticipating the
risks, and trying to get it as comfortable and functional as possible.
