"I felt like I was holding life in my fingertips, feeling what it's really like to be alive on this planet."

The Sector American Pearl has been rescued at sea!!!
...Kathy Burr telephoned me shortly after 6:00 AM this morning to report that the American Pearl had been found. She gave me the number for the Coast Guard Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. I spoke with Petty Officer Drew Leaon who reported that an American motor vessel the SV Mediterranean was along
side the American Pearl and that they were attempting to salvage the boat.  (Tori)

logo2.jpg (20593 bytes) Oregon Inlet, N.C. -- (June 14, 1998) -- Tori Murden has departed  onboard "Sector No Limits American Pearl" from Oregon Inlet, N.C. She is attempting  to become the first American and first woman to row alone and unsupported across an ocean solo. If completed, the marathon North Atlantic row   3,635 miles from North Carolina to the West Coast of France – will take 100 to 120 days.

Murden is sponsored by Sector Sport Watches. She is a member of the Sector No Limitsģ Team, an elite group of international athletes who dare test and transcend the outer limits of human potential.

June 19 (282 miles East of Oregon Inlet)..."In sum, I had a great storm kick me into the Gulf Stream. I’ve had a bath. The laundry, if not clean, is cleaner than it was yesterday. The sun is shining. The water is calm and I would wish myself to be in no other place on earth than the one in which I find myself. If there is any truer statement of happiness, I cannot bring it to mind.
